DESCRIPTION
The last Classic Mini's:
At the end of the production run when BMW had taken control of the Rover Group, Mini underwent a thorough rebranding as part of a repositioning strategy.
In late 1996, the last comprehensive technical change was implemented with the introduction of the multipoint injection system (in-short MPI) on the fabled A-series engine, raising the total power output from 53 to 63 hp. For those who wanted to show-off the sporting credentials of the Mini, there was the option of selecting the so-called "Sportspack".
This pack was limited to the trim level only (technically all MPI's are idential) and consisted of 13 inch alloys, additional gauges in the dashboard (oil temperature and battery amp), large body colour extended wheel arches, additional driving and fog lamps amongst others.
Today the Sportspack is highly sought-after as it transforms the look of the Classic Mini into a much cooler stance.
Original, low mileage cars are very hard to come by these days and have become increasingly collectable.
This Mini Sportspack:
The car we're pleased to offer here is a very special example indeed. Chassis no "D182958" was originally consigned to Mini Motorcars B.V. of Amsterdam on the 6th of October 2000.
Specified as 1.3 with the Sportspack from factory in cool Tahiti Blue over a Black full leather interior.
The first owner kept hold of the Mini for 24 years, which is well-documented thanks to this being an original Dutch car and it still bearing the original registration plates of 44-GF-JV.
The Mini has been used as a weekend toy throughout its life and has been garaged carefully, which is the only way forward if you want to preserve one of these for the longterm!
This makes that this example is absolutely rust-free today, thanks to rust-proofing in all the cavities and on the underside.
Service history is well documented in the original Mini service booklet (serviced by just 3 different garages throughout its life) as well as a separate service booklet by the last garage.
Today the mileage shows a mere 40.000 km's from new, which is fully documented year-on-year by the RDW NAP report.
This Mini presents near-faultless throughout and is exactly as it would have left the factory 25 years ago, no alterations or upgrades which is quite rare.
No signs of Mini gremlins such as the aforementioned rust or crunchy synchros in the gearbox - all is exactly as it should be with all ancillaries working as they should.
Currently a modern JVC radio with bluetooth streaming is installed - making this Classic Mini perfect for daily use in the Summer!
She benefits from all original booklets (instruction, service and Dealer list) and accessories including jack & tools in the original pouch.
A dedicated history file comprises all available documents such as old MOT reports as well as the original registration documents from 2000!
Two sets of keys with keyfobs are present as well.
Bite-size:
Another great Mini with exceptionally low mileage! This one ticks all boxes and has superb history to go with it as well!
