Always serviced and MoT’d. Just flew through the last Mot (Jul 2022) just as it had done in previous years. Never tracked or Hill climbed....however, certainly enjoyed (!) with the 3.9:1 setup meaning great acceleration whilst still being more than comfortable at higher speeds.
She is not perfect – the mileage on display is 35,000 miles (only 1500 on current engine). However, the odometer has never worked in the years I have had it. All other dials work and, importantly, the speedometer has been calibrated for the current setup so reads correctly. In addition, the two doors are a very slight different shade of blue. I considered getting it resprayed, but I felt went with the race charm. Finally, there are a couple of stone chips (literally, just a couple) and a small bit of paint flakeage at back (see photo) that is barely noticeable. I do have touch up paint, but I fear I’d make it worse as I was never good at art! Please note the shell is from a City E and the engine on the V5 says 998cc. Previous owner (who bought the new engine) said it was a Cooper S engine from 1973, however it's only right I say that there are no receipts to prove this unfortunately. It's definitely a 1310 though.
Included in the sale is well over £1000 worth of extras including: Standard ratio rebuilt gearbox, Rear suspension arms (need shafts), Gearshift mechanism (bent bit at bottom but could have new shaft for £20), Air filter, 80s asrali steering wheel, Lucas distributor (45d), Spare radiator top pipe, Valve guide seals, gaskets, Standard brackets for toe, Flywheel bolts , bowing housing case bolts, Indicator and hazard flasher units, Standard lower suspension arms x 2, Spare bulbs, cam followers, floats , piston rings, Blue HT leads plus loads more.
Always stored undercover and stored in a humidity controlled storage facility between Oct-Apr.
Selling as I feel this is a lot of car for me (I did none of the work on it, rather looked to specialists to advise/fit), and I just don't have the time/brain to fully appreciate it. It’s so so SO much fun, I’m sure whoever buys her will enjoy driving her as much as I have :-)
I know this listing could encourage time-wasters, so I'm happy to offer test drives, but I will be driving. I have lots more photos and videos can be provided of her starting up / running and a walk round.
Any questions, please feel free to ask!
