DESCRIPTION
STORY
The lasting success of the Mini was not foreseeable when Alec Issigonis drew his first sketches of the small car - with plenty of space for four people and the wheels at the very end of the body - on a tablecloth.
On October 4, 2000, the last original Mini, which had only been technically modified in details during the 41-year production period, rolled off the production line. This meant that the successful small car model had reached a total of 5,387,862 vehicles produced.
This example belongs to the last series of the Classic Mini built and was first registered in the spring of 1998. With full leather upholstery, wooden interior and fine accessories, this sports version was very luxuriously equipped.
At the request of the customer, this Cooper Sport was painted in the original color "Blaze", which was actually intended exclusively for the British market.
BODY AND PAINT
The body has not the slightest damage, has its original paint and is immaculately maintained. A high-quality seal was applied by a Swiss paint professional for the new exhibition here in the Ampera House.
INTERIOR
Very British in the interior; high-quality leather seats in Connolly quality were installed for the last luxury Mini produced. The fine touch is underlined by the wood applications on the dashboard and the doors. The door shelves have been renewed to underline the new car condition.
ENGINE AND MECHANICS
English engines are known for their torque. This also applies to the 1.3 liter injection engine from Rover, which drives very well even at low revs. A fantastic companion in the city and on country roads. It is also suitable for use on the motorway, although it does get a bit loud there. But what does that matter when driving is this fun!
CHASSIS
Who hasn't heard the saying that the Mini drives like a go-kart? The "racing dwarf" still amazes today in driving competitions when it sticks to the fast Jaguars and AC Cobras and is hardly ever unsettled. Tough but friendly - that's what we call the Mini's tight chassis.
DRIVING EXPERIENCE
With the Mini, it is impossible to give an objective assessment of the driving experience. Either you enjoy it, you stroll with it, or you tell a Porsche where to go in the bend. Everyone has their own driving experience...
RECOMMENDATION
If you have never owned a Classic Mini, you should.
This example should perhaps complement an existing vehicle fleet and only be used on special occasions. There is no comparable example in Switzerland and it is one of the Classic Minis worthy of a collection.
