2001 Rover Mini Cooper Sport 500 British Racing Green

We are very pleased to offer a super rare and highly collectable 2001 Rover Mini Cooper Sport 500. Finished in the best Sportspack colour, British racing green that really pops in the sun with contrasting Platinum Silver roof, bonnet stripes and four spot lamps. This example has only covered an incredible eight thousand miles in 24 years. It is accompanied with a fully stamped service book, detailed service history folder and every MOT certificate. It was registered new by Mantles Rover in Bury and still wears both of its original dealer number plates and rear window sticker. It also has a 500 cherished number plate just to add to the kudos.

Rover launched the Cooper Sport 500 edition in late 2000 at the very end of classic Mini production and exclusively only 500 Cooper Sports were produced. They have full Cooper Sport spec: Platinum silver roof, matching leather trim and dashboard and third level brake light and they also have a plaque in the glovebox to remind you that you own a very special Mini indeed. Our 500 has a certificate from the 500 register and it is confirmed as being car number 319 so well within the last 200. These very rare and sought after Minis seldom come up for sale so this a fantastic opportunity especially given its ultra low mileage.

On the road this Mini drives like it is new, in short it looks new and smells new and it has been an absolute pleasure to prepare. You cannot help but smile driving a Mini like this as it feels like a real privilege. The 1275cc engine is super smooth and near silent with excellent power delivery and the gearbox is taught and precise. Koni shocks and Yokohama tyres give it excellent handling. This is an MPi Mini which stands for multi point fuel injection, all you need to do is simply turn the key and go, Further features include a drivers airbag, side impact beams and alarm and immobiliser. MPi Minis offer all the Classic Mini charm with a modern twist and thanks to taller gearing they cruise with ease at Motorway speeds.

This 500 has a beautifully presented interior that still has that new car smell. It has full Sport spec with Black leather with Platinum silver inserts, Aluminium 6 clock dash with magnolia dials and alloy door furniture. The roof lining, carpets and switchgear are all in excellent condition, and it still has its original Rover cassette player and Cooper logo embossed floor matts.

This Cooper has an excellent shell, the underside is a joy to behold as it is all as it should be. It has the correct original vented sills, original body coloured floors, boot floor and inner arches. All of the panels are original. This is an unrestored example and it wears its vintage well. The paintwork is stunning with a deep shine and it gets immediate attention wherever I take it. The engine bay has been carefully detailed with a host of cosmetic upgrades to lift the looks such as an alloy rocker cover, billet alloy thermostat housing and and a works “S” air intake. The boot is completely original with gleaming paint and a fully fitted boot liner kit to protect it.

As you can see form the images this is a fantastic looking example that is both rare desirable. It offers its new owner the chance to own a piece of Mini Cooper history that is easy to own and great fun to drive.

The 500 is fully checked, serviced and driven and has full MOT so is ready to be enjoyed.
