DESCRIPTION
2001 Y Rover Mini Cooper Sport 500 S Works Spec, in classic British Racing Green with a silver roof, bonnet stripes and mirrors.
This car is number 388 of the last 500 minis ever made.
It has a signed certificate as well as a Cooper Sport 500 club certificate to support this.
This mini has always been enthusiast owned and very well cared for.
I first sold it in 2014 and have known the last 2 owners.
In 2010 it was upgraded to a very similar spec to the John Cooper S Works minis with the help of Mini Sport.
It has a stage 3 Mini Sport cylinder head, 3 branch exhaust manifold with Maniflow exhaust.
The camshaft is now a Swifttune SW5 and it has a larger alloy throttle body.
This allows the engine to breath better and has increased the power to 84 BHP on the rolling road.
This is the same performance as the S Works claimed 90 BHP which in practice is closer to 85 bhp on the rolling road.
The advantage with this mini is that the gearbox has been uprated with a 4 pin differential and central oil pickup.
The biggest change is the final drive which has been changed for a 3:1 which gives a lot more torque and it pulls very well in 4th gear which can be lacking with a standard gearbox.
The brakes have been upgraded to vented discs at the front and Minifin alloy drums at the rear.
The suspension is adjustable in height and damping as well as camber front and rear.
It has all been very carefully thought through the end result is a great mini to drive while still feeling refined and enjoyable on a longer journey.
The body condition is excellent as it has been waxoiled which has protected it very well.
The wheels have recently been refurbished and look close to new and it has matching Yokohama A539 tyres all around.
The interior is immaculate and it has the additional centre console.
The original radio is present and working.
I have a detailed history file showing the entire storey of the car so the new owner can see the vast expense and care that has been shown to this special Mini.
I also have the original book pack including the service book supporting the mileage of just 29520 and both sets of keys.
It does have the Cooper Sport 500 gift bag which has a key ring and cap in it.
