DESCRIPTION
We are very pleased to offer an amazing opportunity: an ultra low mileage and beautifully preserved 1997 Rover Mini Cooper Sportspack. Finished in Solar red with a contrasting white roof and bonnet stripes. This genuine Spotspack Cooper has covered just 6800 miles from new and has lived a charmed life. Unlike other ultra low mileage Minis that have been stored for long periods this example has been used regularly, although sparingly, every year with carefully documented mileage and annual MOTs. Therefore it offers its lucky new owner the chance to own a piece of Mini Cooper history whilst also having a Mini that is ready to be driven and enjoyed.
Supplied by Rover main agents, Merideth and Kirkham in Colywn Bay, its first owner cherished it for 5 years covering 5000 miles, the second owner kept it until 2020 some 18 years covering 700 miles. Since then it has continued to be cared for with a hand written log of all journeys, mileage and maintenance. It is accompanied with all of its original handbooks, a large service folder, both sets of keys and fobs and two cassettes from 1998. The service book is stamped right onto the spare pages.
On the road, driving this Cooper is a real privilege, it looks new, smells new and drives like new. The 1275 engine is near silent and the gearbox is beautiful and precise. It rides on its original Koni shocks and has four brand new tyres, the original Dunlop SP Sport tyres have been retained for the next owner. Performance is excellent and the handling is precise. This is a multi point fuel injected Mini or MPi as they are known, all you need to do get out on the open road is simply turn the key and go. Further features include a drivers airbag, alarm and immobiliser, side impact beams and taller gearing for long distance cruising.
The interior is in fantastic condition, a real time warp right down to the Cooper emblem floor matts. The half leather Monaco trim is unmarked as are the carpets, door cards and roof liner. It also has its original Rover R-950 cassette player. This model also has rear seat belts.
This Cooper has is very original and belies its 28 year vintage. The shell is in excellent untouched condition and still wears its original factory wax-oil underneath and is completely body coloured on the underside and well detailed. It has all of its original paint and panels and is a real testament to its cared for life. It also has a fully fitted indoor car cover. It is easily show standard but also ready to be driven and enjoyed making you smile as much as it does me.
We have fully serviced, checked, tuned and driven this Mini and it has a long no advisory MOT and is ready to be enjoyed.
