DESCRIPTION
One of the 2000 Cherry Red metallic examples produced in 1989 to celebrate 30 years of Mini production, it’s colour really pops in the sunlight.
This one doesn’t have the optional sunroof.
It’s been uprated both inside and out. From the outside, the first thing you’ll notice is that it’s been retrofitted with colour-coded Sportspack arches, covering near-new 13in alloys shod with a matching set of Yokohama tyres.
Other external additions include 4 auxiliary lights, GT style fuel filler, and extras chrome fittings.
And the faux dealer sticker in the rear window is a nice touch if you know your Mini history.
Inside, it has the original half-leather and lightning cloth with red piping seats and door cards, and original steering wheel, but it’s been taken up a couple of notches with various Wood and Pickett parts including gearknob and sill threshers. It’s further fitted with walnut dash with extra gauges, walnut door cappings, and a centre console with extra vents. Whether or not theses are also Wood and Pickett, I don’t know, but they look very smart and professionally installed.
Also fitted with a modern stereo with USB
This example was restored 2019-22 including the replacement of both front wings, new front panel, both sills, both doors, scuttle panel and both A-panels, followed by a repaint in the original colour scheme and new 30th decals
Mechanically we’ve no paperwork for upgrades, but, for a 998, it’s pretty rapid.
Odometer reading 94000m
It will come with 12 months MOT and 6 months warranty on sale
It looks superb, and is very lively to drive. Just as a classic Mini should be.
