1966 Austin Mini 998 Cooper In Tweed Grey

1966 Austin Mini 998 Cooper in factory Tweed Grey with an Old English White Roof. This outstanding mini has had just 6 owners from new and the last owner for 26 years. In 2017 it was totally rebuilt and improved at a cost of £28,000. The body, engine, suspension and electrics have all been refurbished, replaced or rebuilt while keeping it as original and correct as he could. The 998 cc engine was rebored plus 60, so now has a capacity of 1045 cc. It has a ported head with larger valves, a fast road camshaft, polished crank, balanced con rods and free flow manifold. The gearbox was rebuilt and electronic ignition fitted. The brakes have been upgraded to 7.5 inch Cooper S with Cooper S master cylinder and servo. It has Cooper S 4.5 inch wheels on new tyres. To give a longer range it also has twin fuel tanks as in the Cooper S. It still has its factory hydrolastic suspension but with competition bump stops front and rear. Due to the value of these cars now he also had a quality immobiliser fitted and GPS tracker which sends a message to your phone if it moves! The interior is mainly original but with new carpet and a new leather Motolita steering wheel. In the history file is a complete log of all previous owners including a copy of the original buff log book. There are the original invoices for all of the work completed and past MOTs.





Since it has been rebuilt in 2017 it has covered around 2000 miles so it is well run-in. This is a fantastic, high quality mini Cooper which looks stunning and drives very well.
